Privacy & data

Your work stays yours.

Tasks on your Mac

TaskDeck stores task titles, context, people, source links, outcomes, and task history in a local Markdown document. Settings are stored in a TOML file. The app also keeps local sync metadata and diagnostic logs. These files remain separate from the app and are not uploaded to this website.

iCloud

If you enable iCloud sync, TaskDeck sends your task document to the app’s private CloudKit database in your Apple account. Apple processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy. Sync depends on your account, connectivity, and app configuration. Keep a backup before changing storage or sync settings.

The AI companion and connected sources

When you use TaskDeck through Codex or ChatGPT, the host can receive the task content and source material needed for your request. The host and the services you connect apply their own data policies. Only connect accounts you are authorized to use.

The companion uses authorized sources to find possible tasks and records scan progress locally. Installing the package does not grant access to Slack or other accounts. Discovery is intended to read source material, not post or modify it. Task changes are separate requested actions.

This website

This website and the installer download are hosted on Amazon Web Services using S3 and CloudFront. AWS processes ordinary connection information, including your IP address, requested path, and browser information, to deliver the site and protect its infrastructure.

The page includes no advertising, tracking pixels, third-party fonts, or behavioral analytics. It does not set cookies or store the card demo in your browser. The demo uses example text, makes no AI request, and resets when you reload.

TaskDeck does not enable website access-log delivery for this deployment. AWS may retain operational and security information under its own policies. No TaskDeck-managed visitor-log retention period applies.

Support

If you email support, your email address and message are used to respond and investigate the issue. Do not send credentials or private task documents. Review diagnostic reports before sharing them. Ask us to delete a support conversation when you no longer need it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Local task files remain on your Mac until you delete them. Removing the app does not erase these files. If you use iCloud, removing a local file alone may not remove its cloud copy. Turn off sync and review the app’s stored data in your Apple account before deleting data permanently.
